Rachel Brown has been a professional performer and dance educator for over 10 years with a strong background in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern and Musical Theater Dance. She holds a BFA in theater with a concentration in acting and a BFA in dance performance. As a faculty member in the theater and dance department at Montclair State University (and also formally at Fairleigh Dickinson University), she delights in seeing her students grow and improve.
Rachel is a founding member and rehearsal director of Moe-tion Dance Theater (Artistic Director: Maureen Glennon), a small professional modern dance company. Her own choreography has been presented in New York City, at schools throughout New Jersey and at regional theaters in New Jersey and New Hampshire to rave reviews.
Some of her favorite choreographic credits include: "Andrew Lippa's Wild Party" for MSU main stage, "The Drowsy Chaperone," "Legally Blonde: The Musical," "Annie," "Sweet Charity," "Pippin," "Bye Bye Birdie," "Hair," and "Anything Goes." Associate Director/Choreographer for Mount Washington Valley Theater Company's (NH) "Cats" and Associate Choreographer for "Cabaret."
Rachel continues to study acting and dance in New York City. She believes one must never stop learning.
