Crystal Mann began dancing at the age of 7, where she trained extensively in ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Modern and Hip Hop. Crystal has been the recipient of numerous scholarships and awards throughout her competitive dance career. Throughout her training, Crystal was fortunate to be exposed to many dance opportunities such as being selected to participate in the Dance Theatre of Harlem residency program where she took class with Laveen Naidu, Director of the Dance Theater of Harlem School and Arthur Mitchell, the founder of Dance Theater of Harlem. Crystal danced and performed with Dance Institute of Washington, Ballet NOVA and studied with such greats as Debbie Allen, Kim Bears-Bailey, Fabian Barnes, Kathryn Smith, Vincent Bingham, Savion Glover, Bakari Wilder, Toni Lombre and recording artist Mya.
Crystal became a member of the NBA’s Washington Wizards Dance Team. During her tenure on the Washington Wizards Dance Team, Crystal traveled and danced overseas to parts of Europe and the Caribbean and was selected to be a part of the first ever NBA All-Star dance team, working with famed choreographer, Laurie Ann Gibson. In 2008, Crystal signed with BLOC, a talent agency that represents dancers and choreographers and moved to the New York City area. Through her agency, Crystal was able to dance and perform for many recording artists and appear in various television shows, commercials and print ads. Crystal was also a member of the New York Jets Cheerleading team commonly known as the Flight Crew for the 2010/2011 season.
Crystal’s passion for dance eventually led to a teaching career of over 10 years. She has worked with aspiring young dancers and professionals in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary and Acrobatic styles. Crystal has a true passion for education and the arts and hopes to inspire others.
