Abby Jo's Highlights
Abby Jo Luquette is a working dancer trained in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Jazz Funk. Abby Jo was born and raised in Houston, TX where she trained with the Houston Metropolitan Dance Company. Abby Jo grew up competing at dance/drill team competitions earning many awards including Miss Dance Drill Team Texas, “Tops in Texas,” twice. She was a part of a national/international award winning high school dance/drill team, the Kingwood Fillies. Abby Jo also trained with Kingwood Youth Ballet and was accepted into the pre-professional Houston Metropolitan Dance Company where she trained under Marlana Walsh-Doyle and Kiki Lucas.
Abby Jo went on to receive a scholarship to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Point Park University studying under Kellie Hodges, Kiesha Lalama, Ron Tassone, Susan Stowe, Garfield Lemonius, Douglas Bentz and Judith Leifer-Bentz. She performed works by Kellie Hodges, Ron Tassone and Bill T. Jones. After graduating Abby Jo went on to intern with Broadway Dance Center and EdgePAC in Los Angeles under the direction of Bill Prudich.
Performance credits for Abby Jo include dancing on the Holland America Cruise Line with Stilletto Entertainment. She has had the opportunity to tour with artist, Julie Marie Darbouze, assist master teacher/choreographer Alex Little and was featured on ESPN with former Pittsburgh Steelers running back, Rashard Mendenhall. Abby Jo was featured as a Dancer/Actress in a pilot for Shane Sparks “The Real Dancers of North Hollywood.” She had the opportunity to be in the dance ensemble for the hit musical “Oklahoma!" and was a member of “Hodge Podge Dance Movement” under the direction of Kellie Hodges.
Currently, Abby Jo still choreographs and teachs for studios and dance teams around the U.S. and is under the representation of Go2Talent agency.
